Clean Air Day was launched in 1999 as part of Environment Week, and since then, the first Wednesday of June is set aside to increase public awareness and action on clean air and climate change. Clean Air Day is an individual day of action where people are encouraged to make concrete, long-term actions.
The City of Quesnel will be providing free conventional transit service on June 6th in support of Clean Air Day. Baker Creek Enhancement Society and the Quesnel Air Quality Roundtable are displaying informative posters around the River Walk from 9AM to 4PM and youth who complete a passport can enter to win great prizes. Prizes include a youth sized camelback from Rocky Peak Adventure Gear and more!
Passports can be obtained on June 6 at Ceal Tingley Park, just look for Baker Creek Enhancement Society’s table. If you would like to learn more or want to pick up passports before June 6 contact Amy Law at bces@telus.net.
